But if something breaks under Vista, you're out of luck. There is a particular problem with Outlook XP under Vista or Windows 7 ; because of changes in the Windows security system, Outlook XP is unable to save account passwords when running under Vista. So every time you run Outlook, you have to enter the account password. It should work fine.

If you are running a very old version of Windows XP, then no. The computer would be too old to be compaitable with a newer version of Microsoft Office. Monday, August 9, AM. I have 2 computers and I installed Office Professional on the older one. It started out as an xp and I upgraded it to Vista and finally upgraded it to Windows 7.
The Office installed on this computer with no problem except for Outlook which did now work. I also have a laptop that is newer and was a vista and now is upgraded to windows 7. Office worked on this computer except for Outlook and Word.
